I’m in a funk

By phattyfit On July 9, 2010 Under Insanity, Meal Plan, P90X, shakeology

Today is a day that everyone runs into.  A day of what I like to call FUNK! Whatever reason it may be it will happen and I am hear to tell you that it has happened to me several times and that is the joy of becoming fit again.  The hardest thing for any addict is to make a change and when change comes it is too easy to get back into that comfortable state.  I started Insanity 16 days ago and it’s hard as heck but no matter what I still push play.  The issue with me is that I have been extremely stressed out and my downfall is sweets.  I know some of you can relate with other downfalls but mine is chocolate and ice cream with all the fixings.  Ever since starting this journey of staying fit over a year ago I have been  focused on helping others while maintaining my slim look.  You will always achieve the best results when you go 110% and go all in.  That’s what I did, I gave up all my favorites like chocolate, ice cream, beer, pizza, bagels w/ cream cheese, etc.  I lost 28 pounds in June 2009 after going through P90X and thanks to my commitment I am still down 28 pounds. We all have breaking points or what I call a FUNK.  I broke yesterday and had an enormous amount of Ice cream with all the fixings.  Is this wrong?  Well it depends because it made me feel good inside and it hit the spot but I hated myself because the 40 minutes of Insanity went down the drain.  Guess what?  I still look the same today as I did yesterday, I still weigh the same but the only difference is I woke up with that bloated feeling.  Yuck! The feeling that your stomach is going to explode.  I woke up and hit the DVD player and man was plyometric cardio difficult today.  After my workout I enjoyed a healthy Shakeology lunch and felt great!

So back to my FUNK!  For a while I never wanted to touch all that bad food because I was scared that I would become the person I was last year.  FAT!  Not eating bad foods in front of my family because I wanted to be the leader and show them that they could resist the temptation.  Now that I’m in shape I can cheat once and a while but that constant eating of bad foods will catch up eventually.  I did accomplish a few things with my family.  My brother Silvano is a coach with me and has completed P90X, my parents tried Slim in 6, Silvano’s wife has attempted P90x & Turbo Jam and my brother in law Joe dropped 20 lbs with P90X.  A quick update: Silvano still works with P90x, my parents gave up on the program and are trying “Zoomba” Silvano’s wife gave up again, Joe gained 15 back because he was laid off.  The point here is that something put them into a FUNK again and some went back to the comfortable state they lived in.  This is what we do and I hate to use my wonderful family as an example but I witnessed it all and thought by sharing this with you that maybe you could understand that we are all human.  This program is not easy and for some really tough.  Isn’t that the point to get out of your comfort zone and push so hard that you will achieve results no matter what.  The bottom line is quit making excuses and try the damn thing out.  You have money to lose but with the money comes a loss in weight and a younger you.  I challenge you to go all 90 days without giving one day up.  Once you get past the 30 day mark you will be so happy that you will want to finish.
