The 3 day summit was the best experience I have ever had because it was so rewarding to know that others are out there doing the same thing I am doing. Helping one person at a time become more health conscious and to exercise daily. My friend Brad, Andrea and myself arrived at separate times at LAX and grabbed a tiny rental car and were headed straight to the Beachbody headquarters. I was surprised that traffic to the place wasn’t that bad but we saw black Mercedes everywhere like it was just normal. On top of that every 25 cars anywhere in LA was a high end car like and Lamborghini or Ferrari. So we finally arrive at the headquarters and all I could think of was how cool is this going to be. We passed security and headed on up to the third floor and the tour began. After spending an hour and a half we headed back to the hotel to check in and eat. I was starving because all I had to eat was a P90X bar and that’s only good for a few hours. After checking in we headed to the outdoor mall across from our hotel and ate some good Thai/Chinese food. After walking past all the expensive shops we went back and picked up our welcome package. Our first workout was at 5 and it included 15 minutes with every Beachbody trainer. I have done RevAbs and P90X so I was super pumped for those but the most anticipated workout was Insanity. We got down to the room a little early because it was limited space and trying to fit 1,000 plus people into one room sounded crazy. I had videotaped a little bit of each trainer and separated them into two posts named Trainers I and Trainers II. The workout went well and set the tone for the rest of the weekend.

After the workout we had very little time to clean up and head to the exclusive Diamond Coach reception. This was an event that was limited to diamond coaches and above. Here I had an opportunity to feel extra special as the guest trainers were Tony Horton and Debbie Siebers from Slim in 6. I shared a beverage with Carl Daikeler and Jon Congdon the founders of Beachbody. I hit it off really well with Debbie and her boyfriend Tom. The poor guy was taking pictures of her and her fans for the two days. It was comical in a way but he was being a good sport. The night ended around 1 am in Blake Warrington’s (upline coach)suite where we discussed strategy moving forward and where we all wanted to be within the company. See anyone can be a coach but not everyone can be dedicated so I look for people that believe in the products first. We got about 6 hours of sleep and to be honest after having a few cold ones the night before I wasn’t looking forward to Insanity. I was actually nervous because I was a little under the weather and I knew I was gonna get my butt kicked. The workout was so intense that I fell to my knees during the last 10 minutes and could barely breath! Damn I thought after doing two rounds of P90X and 1 round of RevAbs that I would be in awesome shape. After the workout we had a chance to meet Shaun T and take a couple pictures with him. There was about a 1 hour gap between the workout and the breakout sessions. That morning they were letting us try Shakeology for breakfast and I have to admit it was fantastic! The chocolate was the best because they added peanut butter and banana’s to it. I am now a big fan and include it in daily meals. They let you order it as a Home Direct so shipping is free! I had a chance to shower and make it to the first session which was about Shakeolgy. After Shakeology we moved to a few more breakouts where we learned more about the business and the opportunities in the future. We were given about 3 hours before the awards dinner so I went up to the room and crashed falling a sleep to golf.

The dinner was fast approaching and I had an opportunity to sit at a table with Debbie Siebers and the table next to us had Tony Horton and Brett Hoebel. I didn’t win any awards that night but I enjoyed one hell of a dinner and good conversation. Lots of money was given out that night including 2 checks for $120k each! Oh that was just there bonus checks and didn’t even include all the other ways they were paid. The ceremony also included future workout programs like TurboFire and Body Gospel, the new Diamond Pack, future award trips and the 25K winners of the success club.

We stayed up once again until 1 am and got up early to make it to the last day of the summit. This was the most important day for me because Chalean, Tony, Carl, and motivational speaker Darren Hardy spoke to us. There were a few other key note speakers but the few listed were the most intriguing. Chalean discussed better business practices and how social network sites can help grow your business. Tony discussed his 11 laws and Carl closed it out with a fantastic message and gave me confidence that Beachbody is not going anywhere. Why? Well because Beachbody has been around for over 15 years and they didn’t even get into the affiliate program until 2 years ago. Darren Hardy was good as well and he gave us some good information on how to keep striving for success. The funny thing was when he presented his little package of videos and books. I knew it was coming but I guess everyone has to make a living. We wrapped up at noon and had 9 hours to kill before my red eye back to Grand Rapids, MI. My friends Brad and Andrea had never been to LA so we headed to Beverly Hills for some lunch. Sitting on the patio in the hills made me think that someday I want to live this life. Not the rich high class life but not having to worry about money at the end of the day. I think I counted over 100 Porsche’s, 20 Ferrari’s, 10 Lamborghini’s, and random high end Bentleys and Rolls Royce. We checked out the Kodak theatre and the street performers before finishing off with a tour of the celebrity homes. If there wasn’t anything more motivating then to see some of the sizes of homes and how people lived out here. We got back after an hour and a half and headed to the airport. Shared a few moments of the weekend and headed off home to Grand Rapids. The red eye was not fun but the face on my little girl and boy as I approached the waiting area was amazing! Keep pushing play and try a program out already!

I have had some spare time so I am trying to catch up on my RevAbs workout program so my readers can get a taste of what it’s all about. Power Intervals 1 is a very nice workout and only lasts 28 minutes. So if you have children or a very demanding job like me then get this program just for time constraints instead of P90x. Below I will take you through the program and express the good and bad of the workout and let you decide if RevAbs will fit your new lifestyle.

Brett Hoebel starts out with a 3 minute warm up which consists of quick stretching and two sets of 30 jumping jacks. I think the biggest issue I have with RevAbs is the warm up is too quick so I tend to stretch a few extra minutes before I push play.

So Round 1 you start out with 2 minutes of frontward lunges with a set of dumbbells above your chest. So all your doing is stepping forward and bending your legs at a 90 degree angle and coming back up for a total of 15 times. My first few weeks I used 10 pound weights but after the first few I wasn’t feeling anything so I stepped it up to 20 pounds and man did I struggle. You can also use the bands as well because they give you more flexibility. When you start to get good at it Brett wants you to “fire up your abs” meaning on the way up squeeze your stomach muscles for more pain.

Crossovers are next and it’s similar to jumping jacks but with crossovers you are jumping while crossing your legs over one another and your arms as well. It’s almost like your hugging yourself but really fast! This move is done twice before squat thrusts and after and lasts 30 seconds each time.

Squat thrusts are my least favorite but I love the feeling when I’m done with it. When I did Ab Ripper X Tony always used this quote “I hate it but I love it” and that’s how I feel with squat thrusts. You start in a standing position and jump down to the ground with palms on the ground, elbows locked and back straight. Push up position without the push up and then jump back up kicking your legs to your waist and standing straight up with hands above your head for a 1 count. The goal is to do 15 in 30 seconds but it is easier said then done. I have been able to hit 17 one time but it’s a killer because you just got done doing crossovers.

Here you get a quick 30 second break but Brett still makes you move a little to keep your heart rate up. He calls it balansa (BAA-LAN- SAA) which is a short sway from left to right that works your love handles.

After your break you do another 30 seconds of crossovers and the first round is almost over but you have to do one more set of squat thrusts. This squat thrust involves the Rev Zone which shows a split screen of one person really stepping up the intensity and doing like 25 of these. CRAZY!

If you still think this workout program is too much for you remember there is a modifier that does all the workouts in modification. So don’t think you can’t do this. My wife Lisa has been doing this program for 4 weeks now and she is down 13 pounds with before and after pics coming soon. She started out with the modified version and is now doing the regular workout.

So now you have two more rounds that consist of the same workouts but the last round Brett calls the spice round. The spice round is just a different term for more intense. These are the same type of workouts but with added intensity. For example, when you’re coming up on the lunges instead of keeping your dumbbells on your chest, Brett wants you to raise them above your head. When you’re doing 20 pound weights your arms are hurting very badly! The squat thrusts are more challenging because in this round he wants you to completely lay flat on your stomach and then stand up throwing your arms in the air. Try doing 15 of these. OUCH!

So the only other things I don’t like about RevAbs in general are the music and some cheese ball lines that Brett says. If you can block those few things out then you will be fine. Remember to pick up your recovery drink for these more intense workouts as it will help you recover faster. For questions please contact me at www.phattyfit.com. Just don’t wait to see my RevAbs results in 90 days, get your own!

So since my start of the new program all I have been doing is comparing it to P90x. The one that we all hate the most but love the results is Ab Ripper X. I do think Mercy Abs is just as challenging and the advantage is its not so fast paced. I do think that RevAbs is fun and challenging with several tough workouts. I’m still getting results with the program so don’t let this review stear you away. Mercy Abs consist of these workouts with 3 rounds of action:

Round 1

Crunches

Bencao Kick- Its a crunch but on the way up you kick your leg straight out and twist to the side. (OUCH)

Round 2

More Crunches

Another round of Bencao Kicks

Knee tucks-Its like a Crunchy Frog in P90x but instead of your hands in the air they are on the ground like your T shaped and dragging your arms across the floor. The crunch is what kills you and when you hit 15 your ready to break.

Round 3 (Spice Round)

Crunches -With weights

Bencao Kicks- With Weights

V-ups- Similar to P90x but your using a 10 pound weight or whatever you can manage.

It seems pretty easy but Brett Hoebel wants you to work slower with a bigger focus on tightening the Abs on every rep. Im a little annoyed with the repetitiveness of the workout but each round gets more intensified. Mercy Abs is used in combination with two other workouts in the program which makes the total days workout to be 1 hour. My final thoughts are that I don’t think this will ever replace P90x but it’s nice to change it up with a different program. After doing P90x twice I got a little bored with some of the workouts so I’m happy that I made the purchase. If your interested in trying it out then click here. It’s $40 cheaper than P90x and the workouts are only 45 minutes or less.

If your already a fan of beachbody products then get a free account or check out the coach program for a great income opportunity. Remember that you can’t get results without a good meal plan so make sure you eat right!

So I started RevAbs on Saturday October 31st and I have to say it wasnt that bad at all. Now I am used to P90X so I’m still not sure if this is going to be as hard. My guess is that it’s going to have its own challenges being that I’m only in day 3 of 90 days. The concept is the same as P90X in that you work out for 90 days and take 1 day off. There are two phases to the program with the first phase being a fat burning slash building your core. The next phase is more of a trimming off the final layer of fat and revealing the six pack. All you will need is a mat and dumbbells or resistance bands. I have to admit and maybe your with me on this but I have always wanted a six pack even for like a day.

Phase One Workouts

So far I have only completed 3 days but have done all the first phase DVD’s. The first phase includes Total Strength, Power Intervals, Fire Up Your Abs, and Mercy Abs. From doing this workout only 3 days I can say its challenging but not as challenging as P90x. Total Strength is approximately 45 minutes and focuses on lots of cardio and of course your Abs. Anytime you do Total strength you also have to include Mercy Abs. Here is the the interesting part. It doesnt ever seem like your doing Ab workouts but more like a fun cardio workout. After my first day of Total Strength I was sore in my legs because your doing lots of squats. Not only are you doing lots of squats but lots of cardio routines. As I am going on my 4th day I would recommend this program to anyone that wants to get the inches off the waste. The one issue I ran into with P90x was time and that is not an issue with RevAbs. The longest video is 45 minutes + an extra 15 minutes of Mercy Abs. So no more than 1 hour every other two days. If time is a concern then this is the program for you. I will break down these workouts a little more but I was really excited to tell you about how my first few days are going.

Either way I am committed to Beachbody and the products they offer. If you are interested in either P90x or RevAbs then let me know. As an Emerald Coach I am here to help you make money, get fit and stay motivated.
