So I started the Insanity workout last week Monday the 21st and let me tell you that I’m impressed! For those of you that don’t know about the program it is a 60 day solution to a better body. The fit test is part of the day 1 workout and consists of 8 individual moves. I have taken a picture to show you the moves but I will also put down my numbers and update accordingly. Do as many reps as you can in one minute without stopping!

1. Switch Kicks – 40

2. Power Jacks – 45

3. Power Kness – 70

4. Power Jumps – 20 (By this point I was gasping for air so the numbers start to go down)

5. Globe Jumps – 11

6. Suicide Jumps – 12

7. Push Up Jacks – 20

8. Low Plank Oblique – 30

So the numbers are down and my next fit test is on day 15, then day 36, day 50 and day 63. I will be updating them on this post so stay tuned for the next update. Overall the workout is crazy intense but well worth the pain and sweat. Recommended with this program is the recovery drink and shakeology but then it depends on what kind of results you’re looking for. I will be continuing my Insanity journey and updating you through the process but please feel free to offer words of encouragement!

Several of you are here to look for information pertaining to P90X or Insanity and as you look around you may have found your answer. Other people that I have spoken to are always looking for ways to save money and still be able to workout. So in this post I am going to show you how to save money while working out. If you have already had results with a Beachbody program then maybe you’re hooked to your outcome like I am. See if you follow the plan of working out 6 days a week for 90 days and follow a strict diet with healthy meals then you will succeed no matter what size or how out of shape you are. There are a few ways to save money while working out and maintaining your new look.

The first way is pretty obvious but no one really knows about it. When buying supplements how annoying is it to go to your local nutrition store and get recommendations from some really big built person. Do you really trust them? Do you act like you know what you’re talking about? Do you really need all of what there selling you? Let’s admit that it’s a hassle to buy supplements because of the driving, parking and hard sell when you go to the store. How about buying them directly from your Beachbody account or through my website? How does this benefit you? Well anytime you buy supplements like the recovery drink, Shakelogy or P90x Bars you can get free shipping. Yes free shipping! I only mention these products because there the most popular and needed with any workout program. When you click on the shop tab and pick out your favorite supplement all you need to do is click on the drop menu for home direct or HD and Beachbody ships the item for free. You can save at least $5-$10 every order so it’s that simple.

The second way is becoming joining as a beachbody club member where you can enjoy 10% off any future purchases. This account is good for anyone just looking to buy supplements or continue working out with Beachbody programs. You not only get access to the discounts but a ton more access to recipes, meal planners, trainers and webinars. So not only are you saving 10% on all your orders but you are also getting free shipping as well. If you want to learn more about the club membership click here as it breaks down the differences.

The last and most effective way to save is get free shipping, access to me full time and your own website and a massive 25% discount. If all you ever do is buy supplements and recommend Beachbody programs to others then this might fit your needs. The whopping 25% discount should at least peak your interest. Every time someone asks you what you did to get results you refer them to your website. When that certain individual purchases the product you receive 25% commission on the sale. If you sold 1 P90X per month that would be $30 in your pocket(not bad!). I look at it as double dipping because the more I refer the more Shakeology I get for free. If you think this maybe something your interested in then please email first so I can make sure you know what to do. My email is g.licari@hotmail.com

If your still waiting for the perfect time to buy P90X or any other Beachbody program there is no better time then now. It takes 7 days to receive from the day of purchase. If you are ready to purchase and my blog helped you decide then please purchase through me as I have worked really hard to keep you informed.

I am going to be completely honest with this product that is supposedly going to make people healthier. I have never been a big believer in taking a pill or a juice to see great results. I am a pharmaceutical rep if you haven’t looked at my bio page yet and even though the pills I sell and promote help serious disease states, the ultimate goal is to eat properly and exercise. Eventually by exercising and eating healthy meals you will one day be cured of taking medications. Now if you’re in bad shape and have already done damaging things to your body it may never change but possibly help prevent further damage. Were like the car you drive to and from work or wherever else you go. If we don’t maintain our vehicle by giving it fuel, oil, antifreeze etc then it will eventually die or slow down at a rapid pace. There are several juices and pills that you can give your body and I think the hottest one out there has the berry Acai in it. I’m not going to go into all the names of popular juices (slim fast, MonaVie) and pills that promise too much so sit back and think of one thing. How difficult is it for the average person to make or eat a healthy meal these days and do it every day consistently? Not only is it difficult with our demanding lives but it’s also expensive to eat healthy. The other issue I have is do we even know what is really going into our body? We pretty much live such a fast paced life that we always put aside the food we indulge in. So have you had a chance to add up the cost of replacing just one meal a day and the time to prepare? I am going to take a guess and say just for lunch, the monthly cost is between $90-$120. I am going to go on a limb here and say twice a week you are getting something at a local restaurant so maybe its more. Either way you still have to buy and make your lunch somewhere or somehow. If I didn’t have such an awesome wife then I would probably be buying all my lunches everyday and that doesn’t fly with P90X or any other beachbody program. So how can Shakeology help make a difference for you and your body? Here it comes the big sales pitch, right! No not really because at the end of the day I am trying to educate you and anyone else that wants to make a lifestyle change forever not just for 60 or 90 days. I have plenty of people that are on Shakeology and live and die by it so its really no sweat off my back if your not interested but at least look into it. Remember I am only here to give you my thoughts on the best selling supplement for beachbody. I truly never thought it was that important for my body and never really started using it until the Coach Summit in LA. The picture above is my first time tasting it after Shaun T kicked my butt with Insanity. Beachbody offered it for free after the workout session and 3 small glasses later I was instantly hooked. The mix was Carls favorite which included banana’s, peanut butter and ice.

So why is it important for you and why should you try it for at least one month?

PURCHASE SHAKEOLOGY

It is a meal replacement shake that contains over 70 different nutrients from all over the world. Not only is Shakeology delicious, this patent-pending formula is packed with proteins and energy-providing carbohydrates, plus a combination of nutrients that is simply impossible to find at your local supermarket or even health food store. Beachbody nutritionals searched the world to find Açai and Goji berries, Camu-Camu, quinoa, wheat grass, Maca root, and sacha inchi (just to name a few) so that you don’t have to. Shakeology comes in two flavors: chocolate and greenberry. I can only vouch for the chocolate flavor which is delicious. Unlike other shakes on the market that don’t even come close to the same ingredients, the taste is outstanding. When blended with milk and ice, it literally tastes like a chocolate milkshake. I personally enjoy drinking it and take one drink per day. Below I have attached a short video on what doctors are saying about the product. Take a look and see for yourself!

When I arrived at LAX international I had a little down time since my friend Brad and his girlfriend Andrea were not arriving until an hour and a half later. Something funny happened to me when I first arrived. After exiting the terminal I was paying attention and just continued to walk like I was leaving the airport. I actually walked all the way out of the airport as if I was getting picked up and after a few minutes of standing around I realized that I kicked myself out of the airport. I couldn’t go back in because they wouldn’t let me without an airline ticket. So what’s the funny part? It’s the part where I sat there for almost two hours watching people check in and starving because I hadn’t eaten anything since I left Michigan 4 hours before. It was weird because I really had nothing to do so good thing I had my headphones and a laptop (no internet). So my friends arrived and after getting our rental car we headed over to the Beachbody facility.

Arriving at the facility was quite an experience as I was really anticipating a very strict organization. Making our way into the building we were a little lost since the next tour had already started. We kind of made our way around until we asked where the heck we were supposed to be. Finally we ran into the current tour and we were at the point where they were showing the workout facility. The room is pretty cool with a flat screen on each side of the walls and the equipment in between.

Two sessions were going on and one was P90X legs and back and on the other side was Insanity. I took a couple of pictures and the two guys inside were cracking up because they were doing a Yoga X move called the chair pose. It is a pretty simple move but trust me you can feel the pain. After that we were taken through the area where employees can make shakes for after workouts. I saw some shakeology and one person was making the P90X recovery drink. This was right next to the wall of successful coaches and hopefully where I will be next year. My upline coach Blake was on the wall so it was nice to know that someone I know besides my friend Brad was making a killing with beachbody. After this short little hallway we proceeded to the sound production rooms and the best area of them all! Where they print the checks! Along with the other 22 thousand coaches I get a check from here as well.

Every where we went in the building people were super cool and very friendly. We were able to hang in Carl Daikeler’s office as well as John Congdon’s office. These two guys are the ones that started it all so thank you for helping me change my life. John was hanging around and everyone wanted to meet him. The other nice thing about the tour was all the success stories on the wall. There were pictures everywhere of people who were fat that did one of the workouts and lost a bunch of weight. The before and after resultswere so amazing! After touring a couple more areas the tour guide pointed out that the outdoor set for House was behind there building so I took a couple of shots but will post them in another article. Every boardroom had a huge flat screen as well as every desk had a 22 plus inch apple screen on it. As the tour finished up we headed back to the main entrance and posed for a photo op in front of the beachbody logo. I was starving at this point so myself, Brad and Andrea headed to the hotel to check in and tear up some food. Our first workout was at 5pm so I carb loaded because I knew I was going to sweat like crazy. I still ate a healthy meal but added noodles along with chicken.

Lately I have been fielding lots of questions about which Beachbody exercise program people should do so I am here to tell you the differences of the two most popular. The main items I will cover are level of difficulty, number of days, cost, results, and which one is my favorite.

Level of difficulty

P90x is super hard for the first 30 days and after that it starts to become easier. Your doing things to your body that you haven’t done since high school.(unless your still in high school) Things like pull ups, squats, Yoga, Kenpo X, plyometrics and the list can go on but I think anyone can do this program. It’s all in your head! On a scale of 1 – 10 and 10 being the highest I would say for first timers a 10 but after at least one round you would rate it an 8.

Insanity is super hard as well but a different degree of difficulty. See the main difference is that you don’t need any extra equipment like P90x. P90x requires items like a pull up bar an weights but Insanity requires you! It’s no walk in the park because it’s packed with plyometric drills and nonstop intervals of strength, power, resistance, and ab/core training moves. The issue isn’t wether or not you can do this program but do you have the will to do it!

Number Of Days and Time

The amount of days is obviously 90 days for P90x and Insanity is only 60 days long. The biggest factor for me was the time and how long the workouts were. For P90X it is 90 days of working out with one day off each week. So if you start on a Monday then your days off will be Sundays so keep it in mind before you start. Insanity is the same besides 60 days otherwise you’re still working out 6 days per week. Now the other big question is how long are the videos? Now that’s where I think results vary between the two programs. P90x is approximately 1 hour per day and every other day 1 hour and 15 minutes. Insanity is approximately 45 minutes each day so if time is a huge factor then jump on the Insanity band wagon.

Cost

Everyone always thinks that these workouts are so expensive and yes I get times are tough but you can’t put a price on health. If you continue to not exercise and not eat healthy meals then you will eventually end up taking medications for diabetes, hypertension and cholesterol. So below I will list the cost of each and the deals to save you money!

P90X- The dvd set $120.00 All you get is the dvd’s, guides, nutrition plan

P90X- The results package $239.00 You get the pull up bar, bands, dvd’s, recovery drink (save $70)

Insanity- The dvd set $120.00You get the dvd’s, guides, nutrition plan

Insanity-The results package $239.00 You get the dvd’s, 3 bonus workouts, 2 months of the recovery

Results

You’re results will vary depending on body shape, size, goals and diet. I think if you want more tone muscle and less body fat then do the P90x program. You will show more muscle definition then Insanity. If you want to look more lean then do the Insanity program. You will shed more weight faster because your not lifting weights and we know that muscle weighs more than fat.

My favorite

I am going to be totally honest and say based on my results I would have to choose P90X for several reasons. I want a more tone look and P90X will offer that more over Insanity. You will not gain big muscles with Insanity but you will look more slim. Thin is in so don’t be afraid to try it. I just ordered mine and will be starting after I get back from meeting Tony Horton and several other trainers in LA. I will be mixing it with P90X because I would like to continue to build muscle. If you would like to be an active member with Beachbody then look into the coach program.

Shoulders and Arms in the P90X program is such a great workout that your bound to get sore the next morning. In this P90X workout you have 15 different exercises and they are repeated twice within a 59 minute time frame. Now the most important thing that Tony stresses is the stretching before so you get a little over 7 minutes of it. Take away the almost 3 minutes of cool down and your workout is really only 50 minutes long. Now if your reading this and saying well that’s just too much time! Then consider doing RevAbs or Insanity as your length is on average 30-50 minutes total.

Shoulders and arms are done in weeks 1, 2, 3, 9, and 11 and all that is needed are your preferred weights or bands, a wall and chair. Now that your ready to go you will be doing 15 exercises straight through but remember to not over do yourself as you have another round after.

I am not going to explain every exercise in this P90X program because this post would be forever long but I will list them in order from beginning to end.

The exercises are as follows:

1. Alternating shoulder press- (you do a lot of these in the RevAbs program)

2. In & Out Bicep curls 3. Two-arm Tricep kickbacks 4. Deep swimmers press 5. Full supination Curls

6. Chair Dips 7. Upright rows 8. Static arm curls 9. Flip-grip twist kickbacks 10. Seated 2 angle shoulder flyes

11. Crouching cohen curls 12. Lying down tricep extension 13. In & out straight arm shoulder flyes

14. Congdon curls 15. Side tri raises

Now this workout is no joke and for those of you getting ready to do it be prepared to feel some soreness the next day. The only thing that will help alleviate the soreness is Advil or the recovery drink. If your trying to build muscle then you should up your weights and do between 8-10 reps. If your trying to tone up then use lighter weights and do between 12-15 reps. Now remember that every other day you have to include Ab Ripper Xafter your workout so get ready to work those Abs for 15 minutes. If you want more info or have any questions the Beachbody account that is FREE will help with any other unanswered questions.

This workout once again is a quick 40 minute workout and reminds me of Kenpo X. You have 4 exercises in the video that get repeated in three challenging rounds. Each round will get more challenging until the final round called the Spice round. The warm up is usually the same as the other RevAbs video and lasts just over 3 minutes.

The four moves that you do are:

Martelo Combo, Capoiera Combo, Jumping Jacks, and Punch Combo

Martelo Combo in the first round is 3 minutes and like I said it reminds me of Kenpo X. In this exercise your moving side to side doing knee ups, side kicks and booty bridges. I like it because it tests your ability to be flexible around the groin area.

Capoiera Combo is next and confused the heck out of me for a while but it mainly consists of step backs, booty time, Skiba, and jumping jacks. Its like five fast paced moves in 1 minute. Fun but confusing, kind of like Ab Ripper X.

Jumping Jacks are next and I know what your thinking. Big deal! Well you do a quick 30 of them in 30seconds and that’s your break before the next exercise.

Punch combo is next and is a cardio punching exercise. You throw single punches of jabs and full stroke punches. As you get into the other rounds you start to throw combo punches.

You finally get a 30 second break here and is a good time to have your recovery drink in hand.

In round 2 your repeating the workouts but your doing everything in two’s instead of just singles. So because of that your time with each RevAbs exercise is doubled. Instead of doing Martelo Combo for 3 minutes your now doing it straight for 6 minutes. For a while I thought it was a little redundant but man I was sweating like hell! So basically in round 2 your time doubles for all exercises.

Round 3 is even worse because now time has tripled and 9 minutes straight of Martelo Combo is a killer! You want to tighten up your love handles and your rear end then keep up with this one. Its still not my favorite RevAbs workout because it is a little repetitive but who cares I’m burning fat. You end with a 3 minute cool down and your done. I have always eaten a healthy snack or good meal afterwords just to put a little fuel back into my body so make sure you do the same.
